At least 4 different cases of child abuse were revealed in Turkey only in April this year.
A 14-year-old middle-school student in the city of Amasya, for instance, was taken to hospital with complaints of a stomach ache. Then, she turned out to be 9-month pregnant. A man was taken into custody for sexual abuse, the governor then announced.
In a separate case, in a boarding Quran course in the city of Konya, 5 instructors were accused of having abused children in 2014. One of the suspects was killed in a car crash, while the other 4 are still being tried.
In the Ilgın district of Konya, a high-school principal, father of 3, was charged for sexually assaulting two female students in the sports hall of the school.
